2021 First Annual Golf Fore! the LORD Tournament!

This tournament is open to the public, and will consist of one round at four of our beautiful area golf courses. Rounds will be played at Old Monterrey Golf Club, Hanging Rock Golf Club, Cliftondale Country Club, and Ashely Plantation Golf Club over a four month timeframe. We are still finalizing the dates for these events and will update these posts with dates once they are available.

Our church has been growing in more ways than one. Our online community has gone global, with people now viewing our services and programs from literally all around the world. We have viewers from not just across the U.S., but from Africa, Asia, and many points between.

Our Missions ministry continues to expand, led by brother Billy Broughman, and now supports more than 35 local (US) and foreign minsters helping to deliver the word of the Lord around the globe. As part of our local mission ministry, we have devoted our church family, time, and resources, to helping not only those in our community, but our neighbors as well. We have taken 10 trips to Jolo, WV, inside the poorest county in the U.S., and have helped churches and residents with anything the Lord leads us to. From helping clean up the community, adding on handicap accessible ramps and handrails, to building decks or additions to homes for families that are overcrowded and have less than minimal living spaces.

When the hurricanes hit Florida, our community and local businesses donated non-perishable foods and cleaning supplies to the church and we delivered them to the residents of Florida and helped assist with the cleanup efforts. This past summer, we were blessed to be able to hand out two semi-truck loads of fresh fruits, vegetables, and frozen meats to residents of our local communities from Alleghany and Botetourt counties.

With this tournament, we aim to help promote smaller local businesses that have encountered tremendously tough times during the COVID pandemic, so we will be asking them to cater the events, host events, and all prizes will be for those businesses, so we can help alleviate the strain the pandemic has caused and bless those from our communities as well.

We would like to be able to continue to expand our outreach in our communities, local and surrounding. Proceeds from this event will go towards upgrades to our equipment for our online viewers, including a new camera. We would also like to upgrade our sign in front of our church. The remainder of our proceeds goes towards our Missions ministry. With the restrictions beginning to ease, we are planning several mission trips to Jolo and other local areas, so we can begin helping areas that have been hit so hard by this pandemic. We appreciate your willingness to give towards these causes and needs. May God bless you, enjoy the rounds, and have fun!
